The GW Team

Our interdisciplinary team works closely together and collaborates to provide excellent healthcare services. Interactions with our patients are confidential regardless of the team member involved.  Members of our team include clinicians, nurses, clinic staff and administrative staff. We all work together to meet the needs of our patients.

To schedule an appointment (both new and established visits) call 202-741-2870
Patients can also schedule new visits as well as annual wellness visits and routine follow-up appointments directly through our website.

Services Available

  • The GW MFA Pharmacy will deliver medications directly to your home free of charge. We encourage you to fill your medications with our pharmacy! For same day medication delivery, fees will apply.
  • We partner with Labcorp for laboratory/phlebotomy services.
  • Our practice does not offer walk-in appointments. We do not provide radiological procedures on site at Ingleside.
  • We welcome you to receive all your care with GW Medicine, but also encourage you to continue existing relationships and/or start new health care relationships with a provider of your choice.

MyChart

MyChart Messages:

Please allow 72 business hours for a response. If you need to communicate an urgent matter, please make a direct call to the clinic.

Calls to the Office:

  • After Hours (Monday-Friday 5pm-8am; Saturday-Sunday 24 hrs): Please allow 30 minutes for a return call for urgent medical needs. For emergencies, call 911.
  • Business Hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm): Calls about urgent clinical concerns will be returned the same business day or the next business day, depending on the time of the call and medical-urgency. Due to our high call volume, non-medical calls may be returned within 2-3 business days.
  • We are an interdisciplinary team striving to provide excellent geriatric care to our patients. Please understand that calls may be best served by our nurse, nurse navigator, clinic staff, or administrative team. Not all calls will be forwarded to your provider; however, all medical-related calls will be logged in your chart.
  • If a medical need arises that requires a provider assessment, you may be asked to schedule a televisit or in-person appointment.

Medication Renewals:

Please allow a minimum of 5-7 business days for medication renewal requests. These requests may be sent through MyChart messages, electronically through your pharmacy, or a telephone call—your preference.

Forms & Paperwork:

Please allow two weeks (10 business days) for forms completion.

  • There may be a cost associated with forms.
  • Forms may be sent via My Chart message or dropped in our “GW Box” at the Wellness Center.
  • Some forms may require your provider to schedule a visit to complete.

Appointment Cancellations:

We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel appointments. Please contact the office at 202-741-2870

Tips on communicating with our practice

During office hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm):

  • Call 202-741-2870 to schedule an appointment or address a clinical concern - MyChart is often the fastest way to reach us for communication that is not a clinical emergency or urgent health concern. We strongly encourage you to sign up for and use MyChart!

  • Administrative staff answer our phones and will forward your request to a nurse or your provider when necessary. Providing a summary of your concern to the individual who answers your call will assist in expediting the response.

  • Please allow us time to respond to your phone message before calling again, so that we can focus our efforts on addressing your concern. Not all calls are escalated to your provider.

After hours (Monday-Friday 5pm-8am; Saturday-Sunday 24 hrs):

Please call 202-741-2870, option 0 for urgent medical needs. Our after-hours line is available for medical emergencies. The after-hours team will not address medication refills, appointments, or provide non-urgent medical advice.

The GW Geriatrics practice also provides medical directorship and services to the health center (long term care, assisted living, and memory care) at Ingleside. Please call our office for more information about this program.

When necessary, the GW geriatrics team will provide house calls for residents at Ingleside unable to travel to our clinic. Please call our office for more information about this program.
